HG-228-5/8X12 CROSBY 5/8" JAW/JAW TURNBUCKLES
Crosby jaw & jaw turnbuckles are the perfect rigging solution for closed connection points. The jaw end fitting on both ends can open, allowing you to connect to eye bolts, lifting lugs, and other similar rigging equipment.
The forged jaw ends are fitted with bolts and nuts for sizes between 1/4" and 5/8", and pins and cotters on all larger turnbuckles. Crosby turnbuckles are designed to easily handle the demands of most rigging applications, ensuring superior performance and a long lifespan.
The jaw end fittings are normalized or endure Crosby's Quenched and Tempered® process to provide consistent performance for critical applications. The turnbuckle bodies are heat-treated for added strength. Hot-dip galvanizing deposits a protective layer on components and helps prevent corrosion, extending both the service life and the appearance of the steel.
Forged and heat-treated steel components: end fittings quenched and tempered or normalized; body normalized.
Jaw ends feature bolt-and-nut connections (1/4"–5/8") or pin-and-cotter assemblies (3/4"–2-3/4").
Modified UNJ thread on end fittings for improved fatigue properties; body uses UNC threads.
Hot-dip galvanized finish for long-term corrosion protection.
Rated for straight or in-line pull only.
Fatigue rated to 20,000 cycles at 1.5× Working Load Limit.
Lock nuts available for all sizes.
5:1 design factor; proof load is 2.5× WLL.
Conforms to ASME B30.26, ASTM F-1145, and Federal Specification FF-T-791b Type 1 Form 1 Class 7.

1/2" X 12" JAW-JAW TURNBUCKLE. Crosby HG-228 Jaw & Jaw Turnbuckles. The Industry Standard in Rigging Hardware
Each HG-227 turnbuckle comes with a jaw on one end and an eye on the other for compatibility with a variety of connection points.
The forged jaw ends are fitted with bolts and nuts (sizes 1/4" through 5/8") or pins and cotters (sizes 3/4" through 2-3/4"), ensuring secure connections and ease of assembly.
The eyes are forged and elongated, facilitating easy assembly and promoting more uniform stress distribution. For most of the turnbuckles (sizes 1/4"-2-1/2"), a shackle one size smaller can be reeved through the eye.
The Crosby HG-227 Jaw & Eye Turnbuckles feature a forged jaw on one end and an elongated eye on the other, providing flexibility for connecting to clevis pins, eye bolts, or shackles. Built for straight-line tensioning, these turnbuckles are ideal for industrial, marine, and structural applications requiring dependable strength and fatigue performance. All components are hot-dip galvanized for corrosion resistance and meet stringent ASME and Federal standards.
