Gates® Power Transmission Hi-Power® II A97 Banded Heavy Duty V-Belt, A Section, 1/2 in W Top, 99 in L Outside, 5/16 in THK, EPDM
The wrapped classical section Hi-Power™ V-belt has a long reputation for reliability on agricultural and industrial applications. The arched top of the Hi-Power belt provides superior strength to prevent "dishing" and distortion of the tensile section. The cords are properly aligned, each of them carrying its full share of the load.

Browning® 1045996 VP Series Type 5 Variable Pitch Sheave, 1-1/8 in Finished Bore, 5.35 in OD, 2 Grooves, 3.9 to 4.7 in (3L)/4.2 to 5.2 in (A/4L)/4.4 to 5.4 in (B/5L) Dia Pitch, 1-3/8 to 2-1/8 in W Face
The principle of a variable pitch sheave is that the threaded angular faced discs forming the V-shaped groove in which the belt rides are movable. VP sheaves consist of a male with a threaded barrel, and a female with a threaded bore. The male section with threaded barrel has flat surfaces at 180 deg increments that allow a flat surface for the setscrew to mate with. When the discs are moved toward each other, the belt rides higher in the groove and the pitch diameter of the sheave is larger which increases the driven speed. When the discs are moved away from each other, the belt rides lower and the pitch diameter is smaller decreasing the driven speed. The common term for this speed adjustment is called number of turns open from closed position.
