TB Wood's® sheaves are constructed of fine grain, high tensile cast iron, and have been carefully engineered to assure maximum performance over a long life span. Behind each sheave is one of the most extensive engineering design and testing programs in the industry. With the advent of higher V-belt ratings, TB Wood's® engineers instituted additional careful test programs to ensure that each Wood's sheave would be capable of safely and dependably delivering the increased performance which was required by the new ratings. TB Wood's® engineers, using a special strain gage test stand, subject sheaves to tension and compression stresses far in excess of those encountered in actual operation.
